Into The health authorities of the Region of Puglia are conducting epidemiological investigations, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Istituto Superiore di Sanita ‘. These activities’ have so far not clearly indicated the existence of a common source of infection. The Authorities ‘regional are also reinforcing the activities’ of the local epidemiological surveillance on gastrointestinal infections and the ISS has sent an alert to all departments Italian pediatric nephrology, through the SINP, in order to identify any cases in other regions, potentially linked to the episode of Puglia. With the same purpose, the ISS has sent an alert to the European Centre for the Control of Infectious Diseases (ECDC).
