Ragusa, January 3, 2014 – A Memorandum of Understanding to improve the health, safety and hygiene at construction sites for the execution of public works financed by the Sicilian Region or Common. And ‘This is the objective of the important agreement signed this morning at the Board Room, between the City and the Authority BALL. – Building School and C.P.T. the province of Ragusa. To be present were the Mayor Federico Piccitto, the executive engineer of the technical sector. Michael Scarpulla, the official municipal engineer ing. Joseph Coral and surveyor. Fabrizio Chessari and Eng. Rosario Song Books, President and Director of The BALL.
The agreement provides for:
1 Improving the health, safety and hygiene at construction sites related to every single work contracted out by the contracting authority;
2 Preventing accidents and occupational diseases of construction workers in the shipyards for the procurement of public works;
3 Disseminate the culture of safety in the workplace through information, training and advice to professionals on site;
4 Promote the updating legislation in the field of security for temporary and mobile sites, as required by paragraph 3 of the letter a) of Art. 2 of the Decree of 16 December 2011.
Among the various activities covered by the Convention:
1 Information to workers employed at the construction site in accordance with art. 36 paragraphs 1 and 2, which will be completed by the property Entity BALL. Dubrovnik in the early stages of the planned activities of technical assistance and advice in the yard;
2 The assistance and technical advice on the construction site primarily designed to support the implementation of the rules of safety and hygiene on the part of the contracting companies present in any capacity in the pipeline.
3 The regulatory update on safety and health technicians of the Contracting Authority.
The activities of S.F.E.R.A. will be financed, as well as Article. 3 of Law No regional 21/8/2007. 20, with a percentage of the amounts of the rebates offered by the auction for works financed by the Sicilian Region or Common.
“The process that led to the signing of the agreement today – said the Mayor Federico Piccitto – was started in 2011 and for reasons that I can not understand had not yet been defined.”
