Health. Immigrants feel better than the Italians - Foreigners in Italy

Rome – January 31, 2014 – “How are you?” “Well, thank you.” Among foreign citizens prevails a positive perception of their state of health, more than the Italians. For the 87, 5% of their health conditions are good or very good compared with 83, 5% of Italians. To feel in good health among the citizens of EU countries, it is mainly the Poles (88.4%) and among non-EU, the Chinese (90.2%), Filipinos (90.2%) and Indians ( 88.8%). Indians, Filipinos, Chinese and Moroccans are more virtuous by the number of people who have never smoked.

The most foreigners (18 years and older) has a body weight adequate (57.8%), especially if women (62.9%). Nearly a third of foreigners is overweight (30.9%) and obesity affects 7.8%. Similar altitudes are observed in the Italian population at the same age (58.2% normal weight, 29.8% overweight, 7.8% obese)
