The health status of the new Church

The reform of the Curia and the IOR in which the Pope appears committed to the end reproduce the peculiarity of the complex organism that sees intertwined, even where the two entities in principle distintissime, Santa See and the State of Vatican City. A body which, as we know, was born in 1929 as a result of the Lateran Treaty that ended the “Roman Question” that began in 1870 with the conquest of Rome by the newborn Italian state that led to the end of the temporal power of the popes.

About these events , until recently, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the unification, to witness how often the story gives rise to feelings and resentment very hard to kill some historians inspired traditionalist Catholics say so described the Risorgimento as a design designed chiefly to decattolicizzazione / de-Christianization of Italy, to be achieved through a systematic persecution of the Church of Rome.

What would have been, I wonder, of the image o f the honest Ettore Gotti Tedeschi, the president of the IOR fired on purpose by hierarchies infidels to make it a convenient scapegoat, if he had not done the above Prosecutor to clarify the total innocence and restore the honor?

The conclusion is certainly not to say that it is appropriate that the Church is subjected to some sort of control of the Italian State. But just how important it is for the Church herself that the organs of that State do with diligence and without looking at anyone’s duty.
