Salaries: health is worth little - Corriere della Sera

Dear

Severgnini, Saturday night, at dinner with friends and family, talking about politics, sports and other amenities ‘of the genre, discourse and’ finished on salaries and, in short, on OUR payroll. In short, I have a doctor’s wife, who works in the hospital (ie employee, with a ratio of exclusivity ‘and incompatibility’) for 5 years … framed as a manager (mah!). Well, paycheck 2750 Euros per month, sometimes arriving at 3000 if you sciroppa some festive, some reperibilita ‘more’ … I have a relative who does technical support for a company that installs appliances: 2500 Euros per month, company car, mobile phone , notebook, all expenses paid. I have a friend who works for a well known company ‘that deals with the management of highways: post-compulsory three-year diploma, one of those who take the van when there are problems and a row on the emergency lane … many nights ago, d’ agreement, but the switch to keep an eye on the monitor and to play games on the PC: Well, € 2700 per month. Okay that money is not everything, but if the value of a work, in part, is also given by a certain degree of financial recognition, well, me and my wife we ??concluded that the then health matters very little. Too bad that patients if they remember when asking for compensation.

Doctors in Italy are paid too little. There’s raining. In fact, many fleeing from Italy: forward so, e will feed the health service over Europe, also because the © Italian graduate schools do not offer enough places (but this will be back soon to talk about the “Courier”).

Let’s go back to the insufficient remuneration. The same goes for primary care physicians (if they work with consciousness) and especially for hospital doctors. Only an irresponsible company can pay so little accountability they have. I understand that this applies also to other categories in the health field and off. But prosecutors are paid better, for example. Said This, would not remove these to give to those: even justice is a delicate and important field that requires skill, dedication and long hours.

Where to get the money, then? One Response Sunday is not the right time to propose a personal review of public spending (in modern Roman: spending review). I would say though that a State must establish its priorities seriously. Â If education and health are at the top of the list – should be – you have to pay us who dedicates his life. Instead of abandoning all company associates, where the public is concerned with things that do not belong to (the list is long), or where it can be replaced (some urban transport, for example). Many of these activities serve to keep alive large and small wagons. Behold, I’d rather pay a good doctor rather than give money to a useless deputy chairman, stuck there ¬ from a party.
